Stress load

Lower the load, measurably.

Acute stress is normal. The problem is stress that does not clear — it shows up in sleep, HRV, and how you feel by midweek. Ingrid helps you see the pattern and gently lowers it.

I am not under any unusual stress but I feel wound up all the time. I tried meditation and it did not help.

Ingrid

Often the body is stressed before the mind notices. The pattern Ingrid sees in cases like this is usually low HRV through the workweek, shortened sleep, and creeping caffeine.

First action

Cut caffeine after lunch this week

Ingrid uses this as a clean first intervention because it can improve sleep, HRV, and baseline tension at the same time.

Illustrative example only. Ingrid helps detect patterns in stress load and recovery. It is not a substitute for mental-health or crisis care.

Possible reasons

Why stress stays elevated

A few patterns explain most cases of chronically high baseline stress.

01

No recovery rhythm

The body needs short, repeated moments of downshift across the day. Without them, the sympathetic nervous system stays elevated and stress accumulates faster than it can clear.

02

Invisible physical load

Short sleep, late caffeine, skipped meals, and alcohol raise your physiological stress baseline before any meeting starts. Many stressful days begin with a stressed body.

03

Always-on inputs

Continuous notifications and context switching prevent the nervous system from returning to baseline. The WHO highlights chronic work stress as a public-health concern.

04

HPA-axis dysregulation

Persistent stress changes how the body responds to stress over time, and that can show up in sleep, energy, and reactivity before it is recognized as a mental-health problem.

05

Underlying mental-health conditions

Anxiety, depression, and PTSD present with persistent stress symptoms but have specific evidence-based treatments. Recognising them changes the right path forward.

“Wellness isn’t the same as not being sick.”

Our well-being is kaleidoscopic, including not just physical and emotional health, but also social, financial, intellectual and other dimensions. You need to balance all of them to thrive and flourish.

How it works

Three steps to a lower baseline

A simple loop from visibility to recovery to longer-term resilience.

  1. Step 01

    See your real stress pattern

Ingrid makes stress visible by combining body signals, recovery markers, and short self-checks across your week.

    • Use HRV and sleep if you have them, mood if you do not
    • See when stress spikes and when it fails to clear
    • Separate mental load from physical load
Ingrid app collecting health data and turning it into a prioritized health assessment.
  2. Step 02

    Insert micro-recovery where it works

Instead of adding a whole new routine, Ingrid suggests small recovery moves where they fit naturally.

    • Place short resets between existing moments in the day
    • Start with the intervention most likely to reduce baseline stress
    • Keep actions realistic enough to repeat
Ingrid app showing a personalized plan with prioritized recommendations.
  3. Step 03

    Build resilience over weeks

Over time, Ingrid narrows in on what genuinely changes your baseline and removes the rest.

    • Review which changes improved sleep, HRV, or mood
    • Tighten the plan as patterns become clearer
    • Escalate to clinical or therapy support when appropriate
Ingrid home screen with tasks, reminders, and daily follow-through guidance.

Persistent low mood or anxiety lasting more than two weeks, panic attacks, or any thoughts of self-harm warrant clinical care. Ingrid is not crisis support. For urgent help, please contact a crisis line in your country.

FAQ

Common questions

Does Ingrid look at my health as a whole, or one signal at a time?

Most apps look at one signal: steps, sleep, or weight. Most clinicians see only what you bring to the appointment. Ingrid combines wearable data, labs, family history, medications, and self-reported habits in one place — and uses all of it when suggesting what to do next.

Will Ingrid adapt as my data and habits change?

The plan is not written once. Ingrid reviews your progress weekly, identifies what is and is not working, and adjusts the plan accordingly. The recommendations a month from now will look different from the ones today — because they should.

When does a clinician get involved?

Ingrid is not a replacement for a clinician, and does not pretend to be. For anything that needs a diagnosis or a prescription, Ingrid summarises the context and routes you to a verified human expert.

Is this a meditation app?

No. Meditation is one of many tools. Ingrid focuses on the wider system — sleep, movement, nutrition, recovery — and uses brief interventions only when they help.

Do I need a wearable?

A wearable that measures HRV makes Ingrid significantly more accurate at spotting patterns, but is not required.

Can I share insights with a therapist?

Yes. Ingrid generates summaries you can take into any therapy or coaching context.

What if I am in a crisis?

Ingrid does not provide crisis support. Please contact your country’s crisis line — in Germany 0800 111 0 111, in the UK 116 123, in the US 988.
